Her Most Royal Highness by GossamerWing Her Most Royal Highness by GossamerWing
Since my recent move to a new home, I've been trying to make my new room really special. I have this one wall in particular that is begging for some art to be put on it, so I made this!:aww: I was inspired by the beauty of Indian bridal wear for women, and decided to design Tooth her own ensemble, complete with an art nouveau-inspired border/background. If you look closely you'll see almost all the gemstones and decorations (including the ones across her forehead) on her outfit are diamonds (because that's Tooth's signature shape according to the RotG artbook). Above her you'll see some funny-looking writing, which actually says "Guardian", "Tooth Fairy", and "Memories" in the same language featured on North's globe in the RotG movie. Just above the writing in the "window" spaces are lotus blossom designs with a few hummingbird patterns mixed in. The same lotus pattern is repeated in the curved triangular spaces at the bottom of the picture. Also, as an extra fun fact, I believe the length of the skirt exceeds the length of Tooth's legs, so she's flying in the picture? The sword design is based (loosely) on the swords her book counterpart owns. (It's times like these that make me weep over how cruddy my camera can make my artwork look:sniff:)

(PSSST, since there's space enough on my wall for two pictures this size I was thinking of doing a complementary piece to this...any ideas?)

Tooth belongs to Dreamworks, but this art belongs to *GossamerWing

Wow... cool facts! Do you actually have the artbook? I don't have it yet...

Which language do you think appeared in your pic and North's globe? It looks Russian or Ukrainian, but I'm not sure...

Thanks! I do indeed have the artbook (...in fact I have two copies:ashamed:). I would highly recommend getting it! It's by far one of my favorite artbooks ever:heart:

I think that alphabet/language is one that the people working on the movie made up:shrug: I don't think it's Russian or Ukranian.

This is amazing! I have some questions. How do you do those amazing rainbow backgrounds? And also, how do you know what "guardian" "tooth fairy" and "memories" are in the secret language of the guardians?

Thank you so much! I use watercolors for the background, only instead of using a brush I use a sponge. Then, using one color at a time, I just dab my sponge across the page.
As for the "language", I saw several posts on tumblr about it. Apparently someone deciphered the meaning of the words on North's globe in the movie and then came up with a whole alphabet for whatever made-up language it's supposed to be.

You're welcome! That is a really interesting way to do backgrounds. I might try it sometime. That is awesome that someone deciphered the language. I'll have to look that up on tumblr. Thank you!

LtS: Do Jack and Baby Tooth/the Mini Teeth!

Other then that, this picture is great! I'm not sure if I believe that the dress is longer then her legs, I think just as long. But this is a very pretty picture.
