Tangled AU: Sir E. Aster Bunnymund

So, now that Rainbow Snowcone week is over () I thought I'd give the other RotG character some love and make more character/outfit designs for my Tangled AU. Here we have King Nicholas St. North's head guard, knight, and loyal friend E. Aster Bunnymund. As far as the story goes, he sort of takes the place of Maximus, but fairly loosely. Though North sent Aster to retrieve the staff crafted for Jack, he spends most of his time tracking the *original* guilty party (*coughPitchandorhisassortedhenchmencough*) rather than Tooth (who stole it from the henchmen, but doesn't know who they answer to/who sent them to steal the staff). Thus, where Maximus ended up joining Rapunzel, Flynn, and Pascal on their adventures, Aster/Bunny has a bit of a different role to play. However, I imagine that following the main "Tangled"-esque journey (aka after Jack regains his rightful place as prince, etc.) he would develop closer relationships to Jack and Tooth (as a mentor, older brother/uncle, or something of the like). Age-wise, I tried to draw him to look like he's in his early to mid-thirties...key word being "tried"

As far as Bunny's attire goes, I wanted it to be regal, so as to distinguish him as the head guard, but also somewhat simple/practical. I think I failed a bit at the "practical" part I also spent some time going through my RotG artbook for visual inspiration. I tried to incorporate Bunny's theme of green and some elements of his Pooka self and weapons (ex: the insignia on the jacket arm is the same as his fur markings, the cuff of his jacket has the same details as the armbands he wears in the movie, his sword blade has the same serrated edging and tribal designs as his boomerangs, etc.).

The hardest part was trying to draw Bunny AS a human. I ended up looking at pictures of Hugh Jackman (Bunny's voice actor, in case anyone didn't know) for inspiration (and oh my goodness, he is one handsome man, why did no one tell me this? Oh, wait, Zima did) I was also inspired by the stunning LOTR!RotG sketches done by *DustyLeaves
